The cast
JM was born March 5, 1911 . He married Bonnie Kate Mehaffey. They had seven children: Linda Gail, Rita Ann, James Milton II, Sherry Jeannette, Fred William, Michael Tate and Robert Larry. JM attended boys' school in Washington, NC. He worked civil engineering projects in Reykavik Iceland and Brazil. After returning home, he met Bonnie. Bonnie was a beautiful socialite who looked like a flapper. They got married and moved to Newport News where JM was stationed. Later, they moved to Union Mills and bought the Roane Family home. JM cut and hauled lumber over the mountain to Asheville. He also ran a small convenience store right across the street from their home. JM died June 18, 1973 and is buried at the church up the hill, Presbyterian cemetery.
